Pre quit planning

  • Think about when your 'triggers' are for smoking and try to plan what you could do instead
  • It might be a good idea to tell people you are quitting, so that they can help and encourage you through the tough times
  • Try writing down your motivations to quit. You can look at this throughout your quit attempt
  • Seek help and advice from a trained stop smoking adviser. If you are using Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), Champix or Zyban, make sure you obtain this before your quit date
  • Plan how you are going to reward yourself at every milestone. This will give you something to work towards
